Student Reporter Scholarship Program

Why don't you write about your study experience at JCI with photos and movies? JCI is looking for a student reporter from among the students applying for JCI.

While studying at JCI, please write about your schoolwork, lessons, and activities at school. Daily interactions with your instructor and classmates will also be good topics. In addition to that, why don't you share your off-campus learning experiences with people in the world? To make your activity report distinctive, please share the excitement of studying abroad with your photos and movie. Your family, friends, and future JCI students will be happy to hear about your study abroad experiences in Japan!

Students selected as student reporters will receive a 5-10% discount on the tuition fee as a scholarship. In addition, students who submit excellent reports will be able to have their profile introduced at the JCI website as an alumnus for five years after graduation. It would be a great business opportunity for graduates.

Qualifications : JCI Prospective Students

Number of applicants : 1 student from each major

Amount of benefits received : 5-10% of the course tuition

You can use this scholarship with the regular scholarship application. In addition, the student who submits the best weekly report will be awarded and get a gift related to Japanese cooking.
 

Report Contents:

 ◾️Report contents

  • A written report with your photos and videos of each lesson for every week

  • Contents can be as follows:

- Explanation of the techniques that you have learned

- Introduction of materials and tools

- Recipes

- How the lesson went

  • A minimum of 5 photos and 5 videos per week

  • Each picture needs 2-10 lines of your original comment

  • Language: English (and your native language if applicable)

 ◾️Example of 1 week report

  • 2 close-up photos/videos of your classwork

  • 2 photos/videos of you with your classmates and teacher (all together or with your teacher)

  • 2 photos/videos of your work in class

  • 4 photos/videos of your daily life and others (ex. cities you stay or visit, shopping and dining experience, vacation, trip, etc.)

  • Total 10 photos or videos per week(Videos should be 1 - 3 minutes. Submit a title caption explaining each photo and video as an attachment.)

 ◾️How to submit your reports

  • All pictures(taken by the film) are due in the secretary's office every Friday morning every week.

  • Reports, compressed photos, and descriptions of each photo should be sent to the designated JCI email address by every Friday afternoon.

 ◾️Conditions of Course Reporter

  • All rights reserved by the JCI school.

  • Your name and picture will also be on the web page.

  • The school will check the contents, so not all of your reports will be on our website.

How to apply:

  1. Download the Student Repoter Scholarship Application Form JCI website.

  2. Submit complete application form with your essay. Please choose either one of the following topics and write an essay in English (2-300 words).

  • "What experience made you decide to study Japanese food?"

  • "How do you think you can use your study experience at JCI in your future work and life?

      *Please be sure to write the name of your course. If you do not provide the course name, you may not be selected.

Deadline : 6 months prior to the start of the course

A reporter will be selected from applicants who submit the form at least six months before the course start date. The screening will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Reporters may also be selected while in session.
